Proceso de evaluación por pares
Manuscripts submitted to the journal Llimpi undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation.
Initial editorial evaluation
Upon submission, the Editorial Board conducts a preliminary evaluation to verify:
-
the relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s scope
-
compliance with the author guidelines
-
the basic academic quality of the manuscript
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without entering the peer review process.
Peer review
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial evaluation are sent to two reviewers who are specialists in the subject area of the manuscript, belonging to institutions different from those of the authors.
Reviewers are selected from a database of national and international experts.
The reviewers evaluate:
-
the originality of the manuscript
-
the relevance of the theoretical framework
-
the adequacy of the methodology
-
the significance of the results and conclusions
-
the contribution of the manuscript to scientific knowledge
Review outcomes
Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editor may take one of the following decisions:
-
Accepted
-
Accepted with minor revisions
-
Accepted with major revisions
-
Reevaluation required (the manuscript must be reviewed again by the reviewers)
-
Rejected
In cases where the reviewers provide conflicting evaluations, the manuscript may be sent to a third reviewer.
Revised manuscripts
When revisions are requested, authors must submit a revised version of the manuscript, addressing the reviewers’ comments.
The revised manuscript may be sent back to the reviewers in order to verify that the requested corrections have been properly implemented.
Review timeline
The estimated duration of the peer review process is approximately eight weeks, although this period may vary depending on reviewer availability and the number of manuscripts under evaluation.
When revisions are requested, authors will have two weeks to submit the revised manuscript through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
Reviewers will normally have up to one month to complete their evaluation and submit their report.
Editing and publication process
Manuscripts accepted for publication enter the editing and production stage, which includes copyediting, layout preparation, and final formatting prior to publication.
Before publication, the final version of the manuscript is sent to the authors for final review and approval.
Authors will have three working days to provide their approval or request minor corrections. If no response is received within this period, the manuscript will be considered approved for publication.
Publication certificates
The journal may issue publication certificates to authors upon request addressed to the Editor of the journal.
