Communication is a fundamental process in human beings for expressing needs and expectations, as well as for improving interpersonal relationships, with particular relevance within an educational community during the teaching–learning process. The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between the level of assertive communication and the attitude toward learning among fifth-grade secondary school students at the educational institution “San Luis Gonzaga” in Ica. The study employed a descriptive–correlational methodology with a cross-sectional design, applied to a sample of 240 students from a population of 380. To collect the data, validated questionnaires were used to measure the variables of assertive communication and attitude toward learning. The data were processed using descriptive statistics and Pearson’s correlation test to validate the hypothesis. The results show a positive and significant relationship between both variables, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.734. It is concluded that greater assertive communication in the classroom positively influences students’ attitudes toward their learning process, suggesting the need to promote assertive communication skills to improve the educational climate and student motivation.
