Abstract
The Objectification Theory (OT) is a sociocultural theory of teaching and learning applied in research and practice in the field of Mathematics Education, serving as a theoretical and methodological basis. This paper presents discussions on the results of a literature review carried out in a class of doctoral studies in Education with the aim of answering the following question: what aspects of Mathematics Education are revealed in research based on OT as a theoretical or methodological basis? The results showed that, according to the analysis of 14 papers published in the SCOPUS database, since 2014 OT appears as a reference for Mathematics Education, mainly in research and practices related to the development of algebraic thinking, conceiving learning as a genuine collective cultural-historical process.
