Abstract
The objective of the research was to evaluate the influence of Perplexity in mathematics problem solving in first-semester students at Universidad Nacional Daniel Alcides Carrión (UNDAC) in 2024. The methodology used a quantitative approach and a positivist paradigm, with a quasi-experimental design. A total of 109 students participated from a population of 171, using pre- and post-tests validated by experts with a reliability of 0.868. The results were as follows: The use of Perplexity had a significant influence on mathematical problem solving, as evidenced by 15.25 in the experimental group compared to 8.30 in the control group, validating its effectiveness in mathematics teaching and learning. Some conclusions were the following: Perplexity has a significant influence on mathematical problem solving in first-semester students in the Secondary Education School at UNDAC-2024 because the alternative hypothesis was accepted with the Mann-Whitney U test.
