Abstract

In the study of integral calculus, we encounter several difficulties, among them determining the volume of solids by cross sections, being a fundamental problem in these cases to find the function that determines the area of the cross section. The objective of this workshop is to use GeoGebra as a tool that favors the visualization of solids by transversalsections, in particular the cross section, whose manipulation is complicated for students when working in a static environment with pencil and paper. Theworkshop is aimed at higher education teachers. We will propose activities so that they can work with different GeoGebra tools and make dynamic constructions, and from the manipulation and interaction with them, elaborate and validate their conjectures about the characteristics of the cross sections of the mentioned solids. At the end of each activity we will have a space to reflect on the relevance of the use of GeoGebra in their classes, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages.
