Abstract

One of the research problems that is gaining more and more interest in the field of Didactics of Mathematics is to determine and develop which are the key knowledge and competencies for mathematics teachers to perform adequately in their professional practice. In this regard, several authors have developed studies that have led to the development of models that attempt to describe the components of mathematics teachers' knowledge. In this Conference, recent advances in the proposal of a model of the didactic-mathematical knowledge and competences (CCDM) of the teacher are presented, which is based on theoretical assumptions of the Onto-Semiotic Approach (EOS) of mathematical knowledge and instruction, and which has been developed since 2009 in several works (Godino, 2009; Pino-Fan & Godino, 2015; Pino-Fan, Assis & Castro, 2015). Likewise, some applications of the model in initial and continuing teacher training will be discussed.
