Abstract
The research aimed to determine the relationship between environmental knowledge and attitudes toward environmental conservation among fourth-grade primary school students in the city of Tocache, San Martín. The research design was basic, correlational, and non-experimental, as it sought to establish relationships or correlations between environmental knowledge variables and attitudes toward environmental conservation, given the impossibility or ethical concerns of manipulating these variables. Two instruments were employed: a test of knowledge related to environmental topics and a Scale of Attitudes Test on environmental conservation to measure environmental attitudes. These instruments were administered to a sample of 68 students. The obtained result involved contrasting variables, with a Spearman's Rho of 0.727, indicating a high correlation according to categorization. These results led to the conclusion that there is dependence between the outcomes of the environmental knowledge variable and the environmental attitude variable. Therefore, it is asserted that a significant relationship exists between environmental knowledge and attitudes toward environmental conservation in fourth-grade primary school students. Consequently, it is considered that children understand the importance of caring for the environment and utilizing resources sustainably to ensure the survival of their community.
