Abstract

This research project is focused on one of the problems of hydraulics, specifically the design of distribution networks in drinking water supply systems, its importance lies in the need for a grouped population to have water resources for human consumption. In addition, in our country there is a large population that does not have access and adequate supply of quality water, creating a considerable gap, for which we see the study of calculation methodologies for the design of distribution networks as part of the study of great importance. supply system, to obtain an optimal and functional hydraulic scheme in the provision of water service. In addition, the development of new calculation methods for the design of water distribution networks is being promoted, in this sense we consider for the present investigation to analyze the use of genetic algorithms, which is an artificial intelligence technique, as an alternative for the design of water distribution networks. This artificial intelligence technique, along with others, has been gaining importance as an alternative for design, with a traditional objective such as calculation precision and optimization, obtaining encouraging results in addition to the benefits it offers since it is not necessary to assume or assume iterative values. considerably influencing the time that has to be invested to obtain an optimal design.
