The present research consists of the study of the addition of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fibers in rigid pavements with strengths of 350 kg/cm2 used in the province of Angaraes in the Huancavelica Region, as well as the influence of the amounts of fibers in the compressive and tensile strength; and the statistical analysis of the results obtained. The tests with methods and procedures of the American Society for Testing and Materials Standard (ASTM), show that the most suitable amount of fibers is 2.00 kg/m3 and an increase of 7.15% in the modulus of rupture is observed. On the other hand, it was statistically proven that the increase in the compressive strength of concrete (rigid pavements) reinforced with fiber is significant, so that the addition of fibers affects the compressive strength of concrete; after comparing the calculated thicknesses, it can be affirmed that the introduction of an average amount of 2.0 kg/m3 of PET fibers reduces the compressive strength by 10.67%, with respect to concrete without fibers.
