Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The Revista de investigación científica Erga omnes is sponsored by the Professional School of Law and Political Sciences of the National University of Huancavelica, Peru. It publishes only original and unpublished articles of scientific research having legal science as its objective theme with a thematic coverage that covers the topics in legal science, politics, sociology and philosophy of law, besides being original and unpublished. They can be written in Spanish, Portuguese or English.

TYPES OF MANUSCRIPTS

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Research Articles

  • Legal Studies

  • Case Law Commentaries

  • Book Reviews

All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another publication.


SUBMISSION FORMAT

1. Research Articles

These correspond to works that develop research with an explicit methodology (empirical, socio-legal, or systematic review).

Manuscripts must be structured as follows:

  • Title in Spanish and English

  • Name of the author(s)

  • Institutional affiliation, email address, and ORCID

  • Abstract (150–250 words)

  • Keywords (3 to 6)

  • Introduction

  • Theoretical framework or background

  • Methodology

  • Results

  • Discussion

  • Conclusions

  • References

Maximum length: 20 pages.


2. Legal Studies

These correspond to doctrinal, normative, or jurisprudential analyses that develop a clear legal thesis and provide critical reflection.

Manuscripts must be structured as follows:

  • Title in Spanish and English

  • Name of the author(s)

  • Institutional affiliation, email address, and ORCID

  • Abstract (150–250 words)

  • Keywords (3 to 6)

  • Introduction (statement of the legal problem and thesis)

  • Development (organized into coherent sections and subsections related to the stated problem)

  • Conclusions

  • References

Maximum length: 20 pages.

Purely descriptive or expository works will not be accepted.


3. Case Law Commentaries

These correspond to critical analyses of a specific judicial decision of legal relevance.

Manuscripts must be structured as follows:

  • Title in Spanish and English

  • Name of the author

  • Institutional affiliation and ORCID

  • Short abstract (100–150 words)

  • Keywords (3 to 5)

  • Introduction

  • Summary of the case

  • Critical analysis

  • Conclusions

  • References

Maximum length: 10 pages.


4. Book Reviews

These correspond to critical commentaries on recent legal books or relevant academic works.

They must include:

  • Title

  • Abstract (100–150 words)

  • Keywords (3–5)

  • Full bibliographic details of the reviewed work (author, title, publisher, year of publication, number of pages)

  • General presentation of the work

  • Analysis of the content

  • Critical assessment

  • References (if applicable)

Maximum length: 5 pages.


GENERAL PROVISIONS

Manuscripts must be submitted in Word format.

All submissions must include an abstract and keywords in both Spanish and English.

The reference list must include only the sources cited in the text.

Citations and references must be prepared in accordance with the APA Publication Manual (latest edition).

The journal reserves the right to make formal and editorial adjustments necessary for publication.


CITATION SYSTEM

Citations must be prepared in accordance with the APA Publication Manual (latest edition).

All sources cited in the text must be included in the final reference list, arranged alphabetically.

Footnotes may be used solely for clarifications, explanatory comments, or additional remarks that are not an essential part of the bibliographic citation system.

Footnotes shall not be used to provide complete references to sources.
