EDITORIAL

Abstract

Science, considered as a system of concepts about the phenomena and laws of the universe, makes it possible to foresee and transform reality for the benefit of society. Thus, the conceptualization of science is applied to denominate the process of elaboration of scientific knowledge as the whole system of knowledge, proven and/or verified by social practice.

Technology, on the other hand, is the set of procedures, techniques and instruments that man uses for the concretization in facts of a conception of an area or of the whole reality of the cosmos. Technology is, therefore, something more than the application of the principles of science to solve the problems of reality.

In this perspective, the purpose of technological research is to obtain knowledge in order to modify the reality under study, linking research and transformation. It seeks and/or tries to go from ideas to actions to generate goods or services and facilitate human life. It seeks to obtain practical knowledge. In this sense, technological research seeks to design, adapt and/or adapt rules or technological norms with a scientific basis to make human work efficient.

Because of the above, the National University of Huancavelica, through its scientific spokesman "Siglo XXI", is intimately involved with the work of science and technology and that in them researchers find the natural place for philosophical reflection and that the original ways of the great technological innovations are produced in its bosom. All this is proof that the presence and validity of rational thought is an essential feature of university education.

Thus, in the present edition of the scientific magazine "Siglo XXI", we present scientific articles of a technological nature, written by our academic professionals of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences of the National University of Huancavelica; who express the results of their technological research, such as: Evaluation and analysis of seismic vulnerability in elevated tanks of multifamily housing in the district of Lircay-Angaraes-Huancavelica, 2021; Supply of electricity from solar photovoltaic energy for the Acraquia production and research center of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences of the UNH and Determination of the quality of water for human consumption through physical, chemical and microbiological parameters in the city of Huancavelica. Since technology is characterized by using knowledge previously proven in practice or, if it is the case, it tries to demonstrate the veracity of an information in a concrete reality to conform it in the operative knowledge.

Finally, with our persevering conviction of investigative character and in order to contribute to the development of scientific and technological knowledge, we invite you to continue participating in the edition of the next issues of "Siglo XXI", as a means to disseminate the thinking of academics about their scientific work.
