The objective of this research was to determine the water quality of the Ichu River in urban areas of the Huancavelica district, establishing six sampling points, these were georeferenced and the water samples were analyzed in the RCJ Labs Universal laboratory, the physical parameters were determined , chemical and microbiological, being the biochemical oxygen demand, dissolved oxygen, fecal coliforms, nitrates, pH, temperature, total dissolved solids, total phosphates, turbidity, at the sampling points, which allowed the calculation of the Water Quality Index (ICA-NSF ), whose values fluctuated between 27 and 32, representative of a poor quality of these waters, because theywere in the range of 26 to 60 on the referred scale.
